About

Welcome to Pica Pica!

Hey there! I’m Kat, and I’m thrilled you've found your way here. Pica Pica is more than just delicious caviar pies—it's a taste of my home and a piece of my heart.

It all began back in Manila, Philippines, in the year 2000, when my wonderful mom created her now-famous caviar pie. She first shared it with friends, family, and at local bazaars in Manila, where it quickly became a beloved treat at celebrations and gatherings.

Fast forward to 2020. I found myself with unexpected free time as my university slowly transitioned to online learning during the pandemic. After the initial excitement of no classes wore off, boredom quickly set in, and I urgently needed a project. Inspired by the baking trend, I decided to launch Snackie Snack. I asked my mom to teach me how to make her iconic caviar pie, and it took an entire month of making it every single day until I finally nailed it! While Snackie Snack featured various delicious baked treats, the true star was always my mom’s beloved caviar pie.

After graduating in 2022, life's journey brought me to New York City. It was hard to leave Snackie Snack behind, but I was excited about the new adventure awaiting me. Alongside my incredibly supportive boyfriend Javier, an amazing pastry chef and my partner in crime, we decided to introduce our pies to New York as "Pica Pica," meaning hors d'oeuvres in Tagalog. I believe it captures the spirit of delicious food that's meant to be shared and enjoyed together.

Every pie we create reminds me of home and is a celebration of love, friendship, and joyful gatherings. We invite you to experience this tradition with us, and we hope Pica Pica becomes part of your own special moments.

With love,
Kat
